Lolo’s Surf Cantina is a Baja-inspired Mexican eatery and bar located in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood. Open daily from 11 a.m.until closing Lolo’s reflects the spirit of Mexican hospitality with bold and inventive fare sourced locally.
The flavor forward menu is loaded with gluten free options (GF) (see below) and was crafted by Richard Ampudia, a Mexico City native hailed as the “Godfather of Mexican Street Food.” The accessibly priced menu focuses on authentic and traditional Mexican cuisine, offering a variety of easily customizable options for vegetarians and those with gluten sensitivities.”
The beachside cantina offers a variety of fresh seafood options. Some of these include a Raw Bar with delicacies such as Yellowtail Ceviche–Sinaloa-style ceviche, with cucumber, fennel and sesame. Others are just as delicious like their Tostada de Pulpo, with hoja santa, guacamole and chile de arbol. Shareable small plates include Ampudia signature Grilled Corn on the cob topped with queso cotija, chili powder and lime; and Quesadillas with corn masa, wild mushroom, espazote, salsa verde and crema. Tacos a reserved with warm, tortillas and accompanied by fresh homemade salsas and guests can choose from savory ribeye, mahi-mahi, carnitas, or vegetarian.
Lolo’s happy hour specials are offered daily from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Beverages include Mexican draft beers, house margaritas, Mexican-style mules and wine by the glass. Authentic ‘fiesta bites’ featured on the happy hour menu are house-cut fries, chicken quesadillas, carnitas tacos, and other savory snacks.
